This fuel tester allows the pouring of fuel during preflight checks, back into the fuel tank without fear of water contamination. A special separator screen, when coated with avgas, forms a barrier to water and debris, yet allows the passage of avgas. It also detects jet fuel in the event of inadvertent fueling. Pilots can help protect the environment by pouring sample fuel back into the tank instead of on the ground.
